For 30 years we’ve been independently developing and publishing incredible video games at our multiple studios founded by Jason & Chris Kingsley, but Rebellion is more than just games. We have our own film studio, we create board games, publish books, and through 2000AD, publish comics and graphic novels such as the amazing Judge Dredd.

Join our talented in-house Engine team as an experienced Rendering Programmer! This group of skilled programmers is dedicated to pushing the boundaries of our proprietary engine, Asura, utilising cutting-edge technology.

As our next Rendering Programmer, you will be part of a close-knit team of highly skilled industry veterans dedicated to advancing the rendering technology in our proprietary game engine. Your mission will involve researching, designing, and implementing cutting-edge graphics features that will elevate our engine. Your contributions will have a significant impact on all our games, as we manage several projects at the same time. This is your chance to make a significant impact on every title we release!

This exciting opportunity can be based out of any of our studios in Oxford, Warwick, or Runcorn, offering flexibility, collaboration, and the chance to work with a world-class team! We can provide a relocation package, including moving assistance, temporary accommodation, and full support to ensure a smooth transition to your new environment.

We believe in the power of face-to-face collaboration and encourage working from our studios. However, we understand that flexibility matters, so we’re open to discussing hybrid options based on individual needs.

Requirements

  • Proficient in C++ with a strong foundation in 3D vector math.
  • Deep understanding of modern graphics techniques and rendering pipelines.
  • Skilled in writing and optimizing shaders across multiple platforms.
  • Familiar with platform-specific APIs and capable of building platform-agnostic solutions.
  • Knowledgeable about performance and memory implications of rendering approaches.
  • Experience designing high-level graphics features and managing CPU/GPU interactions.
  • Familiarity with current-generation console development and proprietary engines would be an advantage.
  • Previous experience in creating tools for artists would be an advantage.
