Johnson Controls Industrial Refrigeration (IREF) division delivers project solutions, maintenance & service solutions supporting customers' manufacturing, cold storage, and R&D testing requirements. We are OEM for SABROE, Frick Compressors & York products, with trained engineers nationwide providing project solutions along with planned, preventative, and reactive works to markets including meat, poultry, food manufacturing, beverage, cold storage, general manufacturing, leisure, pharmaceutical, and automotive.

As a Commissioning Engineer experienced in start-up and commissioning of Industrial Refrigeration systems, you will meet system parameters in line with regulations, standards, and procedures. You will work closely with the project manager to ensure systems are commissioned according to plan and budget, including plant & equipment, pipework, refrigeration charges, and controls.

How You Will Do It

As the primary contact for site technical service and commissioning, you will support the design team with final design, scope, and specifications. You will understand installation requirements for Industrial Refrigeration works, keep the customer informed, attend onsite reviews, and guide suppliers & contractors. You will support project managers based on design and installation requirements. Projects will be across the UK & Ireland, with travel required.

What We Look For

• Experience in Industrial Refrigeration
• Maintenance & commissioning experience with systems using HFC, CO2, & Ammonia refrigerants
• Strong understanding of system types (pumped overfed, two-stage, cascade)
• Ability to interpret electrical controls and drawings
• Gas refrigerant handling certificate
• Ammonia refrigerant handling certificate
• Knowledge of CDM regulations
• Ability to work effectively in a team
• Strong analytical skills to define requirements
• Flexibility to travel
• Excellent communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences
• Ability to work independently without documented procedures
• Positive attitude and team-oriented mindset
