Commissioning Engineer

Location: Bury, England, United Kingdom

BEMS knowledge is essential

This role involves full BMS commissioning to meet project requirements, including producing schedules, operation descriptions, modifying panel designs, drawings, and creating software and graphics as needed.

You will work effectively both as part of a team and independently, possibly supervising junior engineers and ensuring safety and efficiency on site. Sharing technical knowledge and supporting team members is encouraged.

Main Responsibilities:

  1. Check emails daily for instructions.
  2. Back up software and strategy files for all systems/sites.
  3. Liaise with subcontractors and clients regarding design or engineering changes.
  4. Build and maintain strong client relationships.
  5. Manage subcontractors' daily activities.
  6. Attend site commissioning and progress meetings.
  7. Oversee project commissioning, ensuring delivery aligns with schedules and design.
  8. Perform field point-to-point checks, wiring, and modifications.
  9. Commission DDC control systems (TREND, Tridium, etc.), update schedules and drawings.
  10. Produce daily work reports, highlighting delays and issues.
  11. Compile and return 'As Commissioned' information.
  12. Regularly update servers and witnessing packs.
  13. Ensure smooth client handover and conduct site surveys with detailed reports.
  14. Participate in training and meetings.
  15. Follow project safety and method statements, update risk assessments.
  16. Enforce health & safety policies for all personnel.
  17. Provide technical support to team members.
  18. Produce and review technical submittals, wiring diagrams, RFIs, and technical submissions.
  19. Perform other duties as assigned by management.
