Abbott Rapid Diagnostics (ARDx) is part of Abbott’s Diagnostics family of businesses, bringing together exceptional teams of experts and industry leading technologies to support diagnostic testing which provides important information for treatment and management of diseases and other conditions.

The Opportunity

Cardiometabolic and Informatics (CMI), part of ARDx business, are recruiting for a Marketing Manager based in Abbott’s Maidenhead office, who will support SouthWest Europe and LAC regions.

This is a brand new position, which requires up to 30% travelling across the regions.

As a Marketing Manager, you will be responsible for growth of the Cardiometabolic portfolio in the respective region. This will be done through a strategic approach to the market, customers and lead generation in cooperation with sales leadership and teams. The job will require the development of key relationships across the spectrum of healthcare stakeholders and other strategic business partners to identify opportunities and drive fulfilment of needs that fit to Abbott technologies and capabilities.

Some of the main objectives (but not limited to) of the role:

  • Develop a targeted marketing campaign for the pharmacy channel.
  • Understand the local dynamics of the point-of-care market, the customers, the health economic environment including reimbursement and competitor strategies to develop and execute a detailed annual strategic business plan.
  • Provide local forecasts, business reports and information to regional/divisional management.
  • Work with local opinion leader customers to influence the entire market to fully adopt current and future reimbursement policy.
  • Provide a continuous update of local competitor activities.
  • Planning and achievement of strategic programs for effective market launches of products supporting to reach sales and profit targets.
  • Organization and participation to congresses, workshops and scientific events.
  • Support strategic planning work by analyzing data from varied sources to inform comprehensive strategy and to build organizational alignment in terms of commercial priorities, focused activities and required skills sets to lead the market.

Required Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in science or business-related field.
  • MBA or master's degree in science or business related field preferred.
  • Prior experience in the pharmacy channel.
  • Previous related sales and marketing experience.
  • Spanish knowledge would be considered as a plus.
  • Experience in Medical device industry, ideally in a matrix organisation.
  • Understanding of diagnostic point of care products and their intended use within the health care system
  • Business planning and project management skills
  • Analytical, creative and operational marketing skills
  • Understanding of Europe, Latin America and Canada sales environment and market conditions
  • Creative thinking and change management
  • People Management and coaching skills
