What you’ll be doing as a Senior Project Manager

• You’ll be a client-side Senior Project Manager responsible for investment from initial design through construction and completion. Your projects will focus on delivering investment improvements at key sewage treatment works across London and the Home Counties.
• Lead, develop, and mentor a team of project management professionals.
• Overall accountability for your project’s programme, cost, and quality.
• Establish a positive project health and safety culture and lead with a health and safety mindset.
• Take accountability for governance compliance and stakeholder engagement throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring a smooth transition into operational business.
• Support the definition of solutions to meet project objectives and prepare clear business cases.
• Develop procurement strategies, oversee specifications, and produce contract documentation.
• Develop strategies for obtaining third-party consents, highlighting associated risks.
• Coordinate with town planning authorities and stakeholders to ensure timely project delivery.
• Manage consultants and contractors to meet project goals on time, within budget, and to quality standards.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and achieve stretch targets.
• Manage contracts to achieve optimal outcomes for Thames Water.

Hybrid working – Hampton Coal Wharf, with 2-3 days in the office/on-site and as required. 36 hours/week, Monday to Friday. Must have access to a car and a driving licence; role includes a £5,800 car allowance.

• An engineering degree, chartered status, or a relevant postgraduate qualification.
• Technical mindset.
• Experience in delivering major complex projects (£100m+) within a regulated infrastructure environment.
• Knowledge of contract management, tendering, and negotiation.

• Strong management and communication skills across multidisciplinary teams.
