The FP&A Manager plays a critical role in supporting the continuous improvement of the performance and growth of the TwiningsOvo business by providing a key link between the businesses and the leadership team.
Partnering with a number of Business Units, you’ll be responsible for maintaining a detailed understanding of their performance, commercial challenges and operations - and using this to provide genuine commercial insight on opportunities for growth or further development.
In addition the role will have responsibility for aspects of the group’s planning and financial tracking activities so will require an ability to understand day to day but also to elevate outlook to strategic insight and recommendations, influencing at the highest level.
You’ll have scope to work across a global, billion-pound turnover beverage business with 10 international Business Units (BU’s) and complex international supply chains. The role will necessitate regular international travel.
Key Responsibilities
- Acts as a business analyst for a number of the Group’s Business Units, with specific responsibility for maintaining “business partner” relationship with BU management, developing a close understanding of the levers and financial performance of the BU - ensuring there are no surprises.
- Provides high quality financial and commercial resource to BU and group management supporting the delivery of the business agenda.
- Provides genuine and thought-leading insight and recommendations to BU and leadership team by developing a comprehensive understanding of the BU, the market within which they operate and the strategic direction of the Company.
- Leads or provides functional lead on major projects across the group, including acquisition evaluations, business restructurings, efficiency reviews etc.
- Plays a vital role in the group’s planning, budgeting & forecasting processes, including synthesising insight and analysis from reporting systems data.
- Leads or supports the build of CEO/CFO quarterly presentations to ABF board.
- Responsible for the design of new value-adding reporting processes and analysis tools for the group and providing direction to Group Finance team in maintaining those processes.
- Reviews and inputs to the evaluation of capital projects and marketing investments, providing insight and recommendations to senior TwiningsOvo & ABF management.
- Reviews period reporting from BUs and of Group Finance teams’ first level control & analysis, pulling together top line summary to ABF.
- Facilitates and supports business-wide functional agenda to build finance partnering capabilities, and improving awareness and skills throughout the group, including sharing of best practice.
- Anticipates the information requirements of senior leadership team and works with the BU’s to meet these requirements.
- Develops and maintains a broad network of key working relationships across the business.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Significant commercial experience including business planning & analysis (ideally within FMCG or a decentralised matrix business but not essentially)
- Previous experience of working with senior non-finance managers, providing complex business information to senior management
- Experience of project evaluation (eg supply, overhead)
- Experience of critically reviewing effectiveness of investments with less predictable returns (eg marketing)
- Understanding of differing pricing strategies
- Experience of reviewing or audit of control environments
- Advanced Excel and Powerpoint skills
- Demonstrable commercial awareness and acumen. Understands the business, and the market within which it operates.
- Highly analytical and detail conscious, whilst being able to spot trends, digest information quickly and distil issues effectively
- Possess the ability to ‘bring the outside in’
- Knows how to balance self-management and collaboration
- Demonstrable commitment to skill and results as well as being comfortable in the detail, and at the top level
- Ability to develop great relationships with stakeholders at all levels, with great presentation skills – able to make complex simple
- Proficient communication and engagement skills with high levels of curiosity and knowledge
- Highly self-motivated with an ability to challenge, and be challenged, in a constructive way
- Culturally aware – able to demonstrate flexibility in approach when dealing with an international client group.
