Due to investment and growth, a leading engineering group has a new vacancy for a Senior Project Manager and has appointed Vectis Recruitment as its exclusive recruitment partner. The group is making significant investments to overhaul UK plants and upgrade capital equipment. You will provide comprehensive Programme Management across the UK plants to ensure these projects are delivered successfully.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Provide comprehensive programme management across a range of plant projects and equipment improvements.
2. Manage the day-to-day business operations during plant overhauls, ensuring they run efficiently and to budget.
3. Provide comprehensive cost control and reporting support across the projects.
4. Work with equipment suppliers and subcontractors to ensure timeframes are understood.
5. Programme management of business projects, activities, and work streams to meet the businesses’ commercial objectives.
6. Report on project performance to ensure success.
7. Ensure a proactive approach is adopted by all existing and potential customers to build effective and meaningful relationships.
8. Work with site operations teams to ensure the success of projects.

The Person:

1. Proven track record of successfully managing significant capital investment projects.
2. Experience of managing project teams.
3. Ability and willingness to travel and be based frequently at UK plant operations.
4. Educated to an advanced technical level.
5. Experience applying health and safety legislation, including risk management processes.
6. Ability to present and explain technical concepts simply and concisely.
7. Able to work at a consistent level whilst under demanding deadlines.
8. Excellent time management skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
