The Opportunity:

We are seeking a finance professional to deliver an outstanding finance business partnering service to our stakeholders in the Information Services Group (ISG).

The ISG is one of the three professional services groups within the University of Edinburgh, comprising nine directorates with over 700 staff supporting students, academics, researchers, colleagues, and the public. It provides IT infrastructure, information security, library services, museums, collections, learning and teaching technologies, digital skills training, web services, hardware and software management, and remote learning capabilities. ISG also offers products and services to the wider research and education sectors and contributes to the University's digital transformation, data-driven innovation, and online & distance learning strategies.

Finance Business Partners work closely with senior management teams, providing strategic insight, analysis, and advice to support sustainable financial performance aligned with the University’s 2030 Strategy.

The team collaborates with colleagues in directorates such as Information Technology Infrastructure, Learning & Web, and Library & University Collections.

Your skills and attributes for success:

• Be a part-qualified or newly qualified accountant, preferably with a degree or HND in a relevant discipline and relevant experience.
• Experience in managing projects and budgets, providing insightful analysis and stakeholder advice.
• Proven written and oral communication skills, with the ability to explain finance concepts and implications clearly.
• Good interpersonal and time management skills, with the ability to influence others.
• Self-motivated, capable of working independently and collaboratively to manage activities and projects.

Salary: £40,497 to £48,149 per annum (Grade 7)
