Job summary

Civic Recruitment Limited is seeking an Educational Psychologist for a 3-month contract with a local authority. The role involves conducting statutory assessments and producing Education, Health and Care Needs Assessment advice to support decisions affecting children with SEND.

Applicants should hold a recognised Educational Psychology qualification and be registered to practise, with experience of statutory assessments and liaising with schools, families and professionals.

Qualifications

• Qualification in Educational Psychology recognised by the relevant professional body.
• Registration to practise as an Educational Psychologist.
• Experience completing statutory assessments and EHCNA advice.
• Strong assessment, analytical and report-writing skills.
• Knowledge of SEND legislation and statutory processes.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage a flexible workload.
• Experience undertaking commissioned statutory assessment work for authorities.
• Experience across educational settings and age groups.
• Knowledge of current educational psychology practice and SEND developments.

Responsibilities

• Conduct face-to-face psychological assessments for children and young people.
• Gather, analyse and interpret information from schools, families and professionals.
• Produce clear, evidence-based statutory reports within timescales.
• Identify strengths, needs and recommendations to support progress and wellbeing.
• Liaise with parents, carers, schools and multi-agency professionals.
• Maintain confidential records in line with standards.
• Ensure assessments and reports meet high professional standards and deadlines.
• Contribute psychological expertise to statutory decision-making.
