About the Service

Our service has grown significantly in the last two years and given us the opportunity to work creatively, and systemically, across a number of agendas including working in the Best Start in Life strategy, with military families, within the PINS project, around children missing education (EBSA) and transitions work.

We have dedicated service development time and CPD aligned with our vision of practice. Our vision is to develop a creative educational psychology offer, pivotal in delivering the national SEND reforms, including swifter access and early intervention as outlined by the 'Experts at Hand' approach.

About the role

As an Educational Psychologist you will join our central Educational Psychology team, and work alongside a wider multi-agency team, making a valued contribution to developments within the team. We support a wide range of children, young people, families and settings, offering dedicated time to: maintained nurseries, primary school clusters, secondary schools, our inclusive, additionally resourced Targeted Mainstream Provision (or TMP) settings, pupil referral services and specialist settings.

Our team work at systemic, group and individual levels, utilising the knowledge of those who know situations well, and applying psychology to affect positive change. Over this year, we will be further implementing consultation as our model of service delivery and continuing to work collaboratively, empower others and enable sustainability.

We are committed to providing team CPD opportunities. Over the last academic year, we commissioned CPD from Kensington and Chelsea's Bi-Borough Educational Psychology Services focussing on consultation, which we will further embed this academic year.

It really is a great time to join our growing and ambitious service and contribute to positive outcomes for children and young people with SEND in North Yorkshire.
