North Yorkshire Council is seeking a creative educational psychologist to join its expanding team. This role involves working collaboratively to support children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), implementing innovative practices in partnership with schools. Candidates need a postgraduate qualification in educational psychology and HCPC registration.
This is an exciting time within North Yorkshire Council Educational Psychology service as we drive a period of considerable change. We are a small but growing team within the Council. We are looking for innovative, and solution-orientated psychologiststo join us in shaping the direction of our educational psychology service into the future. With a commitment to growing the EP team even further there are opportunities within each of our four localities.
The role
As an educational psychologist you will join our growing central Educational Psychology team, and work alongside a wider multi-agency team, making a valued contribution to developments within the team. Currently our role includes working with our inclusive, additionally resourced settings that are an integral part of identified mainstream schools to embed consistent, inclusive practices. These settings are currently referred to as Targeted Mainstream Provision, TMPs. Support to these settings will be mainly systemic, although casework will also be provided.
We are expanding our offer via new funding streams into more proactive/targeted work developed through the Delivering Better Value projects. Our vision, supported by leadership, is to develop a creative educational psychology offer, underpinned by consultation, empowering others and sustainability.

What you will bring
To be successful you must be creative and forward-thinking psychologist with the knowledge, skills, enthusiasm and willingness to use psychological frameworks to facilitate positive change. You must have a masters or doctorate level qualification in Educational Psychology and be registered with the HCPC.
