Job summary

Newcastle University is seeking a knowledgeable educator to lead the development of the university’s approach to educational leadership and academic practice. You will work with Directors of Education and Degree Programme Directors to deliver targeted opportunities, strengthen leadership, and advance the Education Strategy 2030+.

The role offers the chance to influence institutional change and to develop expertise in academic practice and educational development.

Qualifications

Knowledge of educational development theory in higher education.
Understanding of UK higher education policy and regulatory environment.
Ability to plan, organise and evaluate large training programmes.
Ability to evaluate impact and refine provision.
Interpersonal skills to work with senior stakeholders.
Flexible team player with digital education awareness.
Experience designing and evaluating development activities.
Commitment to ongoing professional development (CPD).

Responsibilities

Design, deliver and evaluate academic development opportunities for colleagues that build capability in higher education practice.
Contribute to devising and implementing the University’s provision to support staff and research students' academic practice.
Contribute to implementing the Education Strategy through educational enhancement activity.
Interact with stakeholders to build partnerships, networks and communities.
Use evidence-informed approaches to inform academic practice enhancement and demonstrate impact.
Evaluate Academic Practice provision and manage feedback and data for reports.
Collaborate with senior leaders to address educational development needs.
