Job summary

Together Trust seeks Educational Assistants for Inscape House School in Cheadle to support teachers and autistic children aged 5–19. You will help break down barriers to education and enable learners to progress at their own pace within an inclusive setting.

The role emphasises safeguarding, teamwork and flexible support across lesson activities, with term-time hours and prorated salary outlined in the advert.

Qualifications

  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate as part of a team.
  • Positive, patient and empathetic approach to working with children with special needs.
  • Good ICT skills for learning activities and record-keeping.
  • Flexible approach to changing circumstances; autism awareness helpful.
  • Relevant qualification or training is desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a safe, supportive and stimulating classroom environment.
  • Promote safeguarding and welfare of children and young people.
  • Support the classroom teacher in preparing resources and managing the classroom.
  • Assist with implementing individual education plans and learning materials.
  • Complete administrative tasks such as record keeping and organizing activities.
  • Fulfil other duties as required by the Trust or senior leadership.

Hours: 34.5 Hours - 39 working weeks term time

Salary: £21,101.62 - Prorated - full time equivalent £26,230

Location: Inscape House School, Cheadle

Key responsibilities
  • Maintain a safe, supportive and stimulating classroom environment
  • Responsible for promoting safeguarding and welfare of children and young people.
  • Support the classroom teacher in preparing resources and manging the classroom environment
  • Assist with implementing individual education plans and learning materials to meet the needs of our young people
  • Administrative task such as record keeping and organising learning activities
  • Other duties as required by the Trust or by the line manager and other senior leaders
