Job summary

Serco Group plc is seeking an educator to plan and deliver ESOL and related learning programmes. You will prepare engaging lesson plans and teaching materials to support effective learning outcomes, and monitor progress with accurate attendance and achievement records.

You will promote education opportunities across the centre, collaborate with colleagues across residential services and community safety teams, and maintain safe environments in line with regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• TEFL, ESOL or CELTA qualification required to teach English as a second language.
• Experience teaching or training in a learning environment.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships.
• Ability to plan, organise and manage multiple priorities.
• Self-motivated with commitment to professional development.

Job description

Plan and deliver engaging education and training programmes, including English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL), literacy, numeracy, IT and other learning activities.

• Prepare high-quality lesson plans, learning resources and teaching materials to support effective learning outcomes.
• Monitor learner progress, mark work and maintain accurate records of attendance, achievements and individual learning plans.
• Promote education opportunities across the centre and encourage participation from residents.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues across activities, residential services, faith provision and safer communities' teams to support equality, diversity and inclusion.
• Maintain safe, secure and professional learning environments while complying with all operational, security and regulatory requirements.

TEFL, ESOL or CELTA qualification with the ability to teach English as a second language.

• Experience working within a teaching, training or learning environment.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust and positive relationships.
• Able to plan, organise and manage multiple priorities while maintaining high standards.
• Self-motivated with a commitment to continuous improvement, innovation and professional development.
