Job Description

We are seeking two Education Support Workers to join Harmeny on a part-time, fixed-term basis, providing learning support to pupils on a 1-2-1 basis within our primary school. The contract is initially for one year, with possible extension based on funding and review.

Working closely with Class Teachers and Education Teams, you will promote engagement with learning, contribute to a nurturing environment, and support children with additional needs. Flexibility, adaptability, a good sense of humor, and calmness are essential qualities.

The role is for 15 hours per week, during term time, 09:30am – 12:30pm, Monday to Friday.

Salary ranges from £9,528.82 to £9,761.60 annually, with additional allowances for extra duties and qualifications.

Applicants must join the PVG scheme; a driving license is desirable.

Qualifications, Skills, and Experience

Essential:

  • Experience working with children and young people in educational settings.
  • Knowledge of social, emotional, and behavioral needs.
  • Understanding of physical intervention practices.
  • Good organizational, administrative, and IT skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.

Desirable:

  • Qualification at SCQF Level 7 or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of Curriculum for Excellence and social pedagogical approaches.
  • Experience in organizing activities and supporting learning.
  • Full driving license and ability to transport children.
