Job summary

Thrive Education Group is seeking Children's Support Workers to join education settings across Liverpool, with an immediate start. You will support children and young people who may need extra help with learning, communication, emotional regulation, behaviour or independence, working alongside teachers and SEND professionals to provide consistent support throughout the school day.

No prior classroom experience is required; an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service is preferred or willingness to

Qualifications

  • Have experience supporting children or young people.
  • Can build trust while maintaining professional boundaries.
  • Are patient, dependable and emotionally resilient.
  • Understand the importance of consistency and routine.
  • Can respond calmly to challenging situations.
  • Are comfortable following individual support strategies.
  • Can work effectively with teachers and other professionals.
  • Are willing to adapt their approach around individual needs.
  • Want to learn more about SEND and education.
  • Are committed to safeguarding and children's wellbeing.
  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one, will be required.

Responsibilities

  • Providing one-to-one support for individual pupils.
  • Supporting children within lessons and small-group activities.
  • Helping pupils access learning at an appropriate level.
  • Building positive, trusting professional relationships.
  • Supporting emotional regulation and positive behaviour.
  • Recognising potential triggers and responding appropriately.
  • Helping children manage changes and transitions.
  • Using visual routines and communication strategies where appropriate.
  • Encouraging positive social interaction.
  • Supporting pupils with personal development and independence.
  • Reinforcing clear and consistent boundaries.
  • Helping pupils develop confidence and resilience.
  • Supporting individual plans and agreed strategies.
  • Sharing observations with teachers and support professionals.
  • Working collaboratively with SEND, pastoral and safeguarding teams.
