Job summary

The Castle School, Thornbury, is seeking an Education Support Assistant to reinforce teaching and support individual pupils in and out of the classroom. You will deliver targeted interventions to pupils needing extra help and help maintain high expectations and aspirations.

You will work as part of a supportive team, build strong relationships with students, families and staff, and uphold safeguarding and inclusive education across the school.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting pupils with individual needs, especially those with EHCPs.
• Can work independently, take initiative, and adapt to changing needs.
• Confident delivering pre-planned lessons to small groups.
• Builds strong, positive relationships with students, staff and families.
• Committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
• Has a Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or is willing to work towards it.
• Good general education level.

Responsibilities

• Deliver targeted interventions to identified students who need extra support.
• Help identify personal aspirations for pupils.
• Promote emotional, physical and educational development of pupils.
