Applications are invited for a fixed-term 1-year CT3 – ST6 position as a Clinical Teaching Fellow in Medical Education & Simulation. This role offers an exciting opportunity for a trainee to develop experience and skills as a Medical Educator.
Homerton University Hospital, a Foundation Trust in East London, is a trauma unit and was the designated hospital for the 2012 Olympic Games. It is accessible via Homerton Overground station and major transport links. The hospital has an 'Outstanding' rating from the Care Quality Commission, including for Urgent and Emergency Services.
The education and simulation fellows support medical students, staff, and AHPs through teaching and training, with opportunities to engage in education and training across the Trust, especially in simulation. There may also be an option to undertake a fully funded PG Cert via the apprenticeship scheme, subject to eligibility.
By the end of the post, the fellow will have achieved the following learning objectives:
The Intensive Care Unit at Homerton is busy and friendly, providing critical care tailored to local needs, with active collaboration across the ICS. The Simulation Suite, opened in 2011, is equipped with high-fidelity mannequins, laparoscopic, GI-Bronch, ultrasound simulators, and explores virtual reality technology. The unit's in-situ simulation program has been recognized as exemplary by the Royal College of Anaesthetists and the Royal College of Physicians.
