Warrington Borough Council invites applications for the SEND practitioner role, crucial for enhancing educational services for SEND children. The position involves collaboration with schools to assure quality and inclusion. Suitable candidates will have significant experience and managerial skills in SEND settings, contributing to the borough's commitment to educational excellence.
This is an exciting opportunity to join Warrington Borough Council as we move forward with the development of local special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) services. We are looking for an innovative SEND practitioner who will work with educational settings to assure the quality of their SEND provision and drive our borough wide commitment to inclusion of learners with SEND.
You will work within the Education team at Warrington Borough Council and report directly to the Principle Educational Psychologist.
You will work alongside education settings in Warrington to ensure that they employ an effective Graduated Response for SEND.
Although you will be based in the main council offices at 1 Time Square you will be required to visit educational settings in and around the Warrington area.
You will be expected to work 37 hours a week.
The successful candidate must have substantial current or previous senior level experience of supporting SEND children and young people in educational settings. Current, extensive knowledge and understanding of national and local SEND policy and practice. Experience of line managing or supervising staff. Experience of leading and managing change.
