Job description

Purpose of the job

As our Quality Advisor, you will support Quality Leads within the business to ensure that quality requirements and improvements are identified and delivered effectively. You will also support project and contract management within the organization to ensure adherence to procedures and maintenance of project quality requirements.

Reporting to one of two Quality Managers within the Project Management Office, the role involves supporting both Business and Project level quality requirements.

The Quality Advisor will report to

PE&D Quality Managers as part of the PE&D Project Management Office, working alongside all business line Quality Representatives and Project Teams.


Key Accountabilities for a Quality Advisor:

Supporting the Quality Leads to meet the requirements of the Project Quality Team and the Business Line Quality and Improvement Team. Delivering tasks and providing advice to ensure successful quality delivery across the business. Developing understanding and knowledge of quality through support to the business and PMO team.

Project Quality Assurance:

  • Drafting and authorship of quality documentation
  • Support for project deliverables
  • Logging of LFE
  • Administration of LTR
  • Liaison with subcontractors and clients
  • Support for internal and external audits
  • KPI data collection

Corporate Quality Representation:

  • Support for internal audits
  • Governance and company systems administration
  • Support for external audits

Business Line Quality Support:

  • Data production for Business KPIs
  • Supporting communication and processes
  • Process, procedures, and guidance development
  • Supporting LFE process and stakeholder feedback
  • Process improvement and governance support
  • Tender support and knowledge management

Business Improvement:

  • Continuous improvement administration
  • Lean/Six Sigma support
  • Process improvement and non-conformance data management
  • Change management coordination

Work scope may evolve to support business needs.

Occupational Skills and Knowledge

  • Relevant experience in Quality roles
  • Member of CQI or similar professional body

Duties and Requirements:

Experience with Quality & continuous improvement activities such as:

  • Lean / Six Sigma
  • Value Stream Mapping
  • Stakeholder feedback and governance/internal audits
  • QMS/IMS development
  • Authoring Quality Management Plans
  • Knowledge of process improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma, Root Cause Analysis, 8D)
  • Willingness to travel within the UK
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
  • Good written communication skills

Desirable:

  • Understanding of nuclear industry
  • Experience in highly regulated industries
  • Full UK driving license
