Job summary

The International Rescue Committee (IRC) seeks a Policy and Communications Advisor (Education) to support the Senior Director and Education Leadership Team in implementing strategy to influence external policies and practices, ensuring IRC’s programming has greater impact.

The role includes writing presentations and think pieces for large audiences, coordinating with External Relations and Communications, and representing Education in internal and donor-facing communications.

Qualifications

• Strong policy and advocacy skills across education in humanitarian settings.
• Experience with donors, partners and country contexts in education/humanitarian work.
• Proven ability to produce communications content (press materials, op-eds, reports).
• First degree in a relevant field.

Responsibilities

• Support delivery of IRC’s education influence strategy and policy objectives.
• Draft talking points, presentations and think pieces for diverse audiences.
• Coordinate with External Relations, Communications and fundraising teams.
• Provide scheduling support for Senior Director and ELT and track follow-ups.
