We invite you to be part of delivering the government's vision of integrated mental health teams in schools, as outlined in the NHS Long Term Plan.

Each Mental Health Support Team (MHST) is co-located within a select group of schools across Surrey. Currently, teams are established in all 11 boroughs: Epsom, Spelthorne, Reigate and Banstead, Elmbridge, Surrey Heath, Woking, Runnymede, Guildford, Waverley, Tandridge, and Mole Valley.

Current Vacancies:

  • Spelthorne, Runnymede, and Woking - base at Unither House, Chertsey
  • Elmbridge - base at Unither House or 18 Mole Business Park, Leatherhead
  • Reigate and Banstead - base at Gatton Place, Redhill

The post-holder will work within an MHST, delivering high-quality, brief, outcome-focused, evidence-based CBT interventions for children and young people experiencing mental health difficulties. This role involves working in schools and community locations. It is ideal for someone passionate about early intervention to support children, young people, and their families in managing mental health and emotional wellbeing to help them thrive.

Responsibilities include:

  • Managing a caseload and providing mental healthcare services to young people with mental health difficulties.
  • Conducting holistic assessments of mental health and wellbeing.
  • Collaborating with Primary Mental Health Workers, CAMHS, schools, and GPs to support children and young people.
  • Offering high-quality, brief, outcome-focused, evidence-based CBT interventions to individuals, workshops, and groups.
  • Working with schools to co-produce and deliver whole-school approaches and providing ongoing professional consultation to school staff.
