- Reporting to: Service Manager
- Contract Type: Permanent
- Location: Baca office, Cambridge, England with regular travel to service locations
- Salary: £29,009 - £31,203 per annum full-time; pro-rata for 30 hours (£23,207 - £24,962) plus £2301 allowance for Cambridge cost of living
- Working hours: 30 hours/week
About Baca
Baca supports young refugees aged 16-18, empowering them to become independent contributors to society. We seek a passionate Education Coordinator to lead our education program.
Overall Purpose
Lead, coordinate, and deliver Baca's education program to help young people achieve English proficiency for college enrollment and personal empowerment.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver creative, engaging education programs tailored to young people's needs.
- Support outcomes aligned with Baca’s Theory of Change, including wellbeing, engagement, social participation, and safety.
- Review and develop the education program to meet young people's and college requirements.
- Liaise with colleges and providers for student enrollment and success.
- Recruit, train, support, and supervise education volunteers, develop resources and training packs.
- Coordinate volunteer activities, ensuring effective matching and activity development.
- Participate in meetings to ensure effective service delivery.
- Manage education volunteering budget and resources.
- Monitor and evaluate volunteer activities.
- Maintain accurate records and reports.
General Responsibilities

- Treat all staff and young people fairly and without prejudice.
- Follow safeguarding procedures.

Personal Specification
Must be highly organized, proactive, resilient, and aligned with Baca’s values. Able to lead with hope and patience, and respond to change quickly. Critical and creative thinking skills are essential.
Experience and Skills
- Proven experience in coordinating services for young people.
- Teaching experience with young people, ESOL/TEFL/CEUTA qualification preferred.
- Experience working in teams, developing volunteers, and managing service delivery challenges.
- Strong organizational, communication, and Microsoft Office skills.
- Knowledge of issues faced by unaccompanied asylum-seeking young people.
- Ability to travel to service locations; enhanced DBS check required.
