Job summary

Compass Group PLC in the education catering sector is recruiting an experienced Catering Manager to oversee Chartwells operations full time (37.5 hours/week, 44.6 weeks/year). You will ensure kitchens run smoothly and that exceptional food experiences are delivered across in-unit catering and service counters.

The role requires at least two years of catering experience, team leadership, and strong financial acumen.

Qualifications

Minimum of two years catering experience.
Experience managing teams in a similar role.
NVQ Level 1 & 2 or City & Guilds 706/1 and 2.
Basic Food Hygiene certificate.
Strong financial acumen.
Excellent communication and organisational skills.
Ambitious and motivated, eager to upskill.

Responsibilities

Preparing delicious food to the highest standards.
Supervising culinary and catering teams to ensure impeccable food and customer service.
Overseeing the efficiency of all in-unit catering operations, including inventories and budgets.
Communicating regularly with your line manager to monitor KPIs and targets.
Representing Compass Group UK&I and maintaining a positive brand image.
Identifying opportunities for new food or service concepts to drive sales.
Liaising between customers and our teams to exceed expectations.
Supporting and training our teams, leading from the front to help everyone excel.
Implementing and reviewing Health & Safety standards across all teams.
