Job summary

BaxterStorey in Cambridge (next to North Station) is seeking an experienced General Assistant to join our education catering team. You will assist in breakfast, lunch, snacks and dinner, ensuring smooth front-of-house service and strict food handling standards.

We offer 25 paid hours per week, Monday to Friday, 10:30am to 4:00pm with a 30-minute unpaid lunch. The role focuses on delivering delicious meals, maintaining clean service areas, and supporting a positive dining experience for staff and

Experience in education catering preferred.
Good Health & Safety knowledge.
Flexible with a can-do attitude, customer focused.

Responsibilities

Assist in the preparation and serving of breakfast, lunch, snacks and dinner according to established menus and recipes.
Maintain cleanliness of the front of house areas including organising dishes and utensils.
Follow proper food handling and storage procedures to ensure food safety and prevent contamination.
Monitor inventory levels of food and supplies and notify management of shortages or discrepancies.
Provide friendly and efficient service to students and staff during mealtimes, addressing any concerns or special dietary needs.
Participate in training sessions and meetings related to food service procedures and customer service standards.
