Job summary

South Lanarkshire Council is seeking enthusiastic staff to support learning and development of young children in our Early Learning and Childcare settings. The role operates 20 hours per week during term time (39 weeks per year) with shifts between 8am–6pm.

Applicants must register with the SSSC as a support worker and hold or be willing to obtain the listed qualifications. PVG checks are required prior to offer, and overseas checks may apply for non-UK applicants.

Qualifications

  • Qualifications listed above or willingness to obtain one of them.
  • Support will be provided to candidates who do not hold a relevant qualification.

Location: Forth Primary Nursery Class

Hours: 20 hours per week, term time, 39 weeks per year

Work Pattern: Monday - Friday, various shift patterns between 8am - 6pm

Hourly Rate: £13.80 - £14.83 per hour

You will work as an effective member of the early Learning and Childcare Team, supporting the delivering of a high quality service which supports children and staff and contributes to a positive ethos.

This post requires employees to register with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) as a support worker and to hold a relevant qualification. Candidates require to have or be willing to obtain one of the following qualifications:

  • NC in Early Education and Childcare at SCQF Level 6
  • SVQ 2 Social Services (Children and Young People) at SCQF Level 6
  • SVQ 2 Children's Care Learning and Development at SCQF Level 2.

Support will be provided to successful candidates who don't hold a relevant qualification, to obtain one.

Preferred candidates identified after the selection event process will be required to assist the recruitment team, if need be, to ensure timely completion of recruitment checks. If recruitment checks are not completed within a reasonable timescale, you may automatically be withdrawn from this position.
