Job summary

South Lanarkshire Council invites applications for an Early Learning and Childcare Support Worker. You will join the team delivering high-quality services to children and staff, contributing to a positive ethos across our establishments.

Carnot? candidates must register with the SSSC or be willing to obtain the listed qualifications; support will be provided to achieve them. This role emphasises safeguarding and teamwork within council Education Resources.

South Lanarkshire Council are looking for enthusiastic, motivated staff to support the learning and development of young children within our Early Learning and Childcare establishments.

You will work as an effective member of the early Learning and Childcare Team, supporting the delivering of a high quality service which supports children and staff and contributes to a positive ethos.

Location

Forth Primary Nursery Class

Hours

20 hours per week, term time, 39 weeks per year

Work Pattern

Monday - Friday, various shift patterns between 8am - 6pm

Hourly Rate

£13.80 - £14.83 per hour

Qualifications

This post requires employees to register with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) as a support worker and to hold a relevant qualification. Candidates require to have or be willing to obtain one of the following qualifications:

  • NC in Early Education and Childcare at SCQF Level 6
  • SVQ 2 Social Services (Children and Young People) at SCQF Level 6
  • SVQ 2 Children’s Care Learning and Development at SCQF Level 2.

Support will be provided to successful candidates who don’t hold a relevant qualification, to obtain one.
