Job description

EDM Machinist
Location: Stroud
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent – Double Days Shift Rotation
Salary: Competitive basic salary plus generous shift allowance

Key Responsibilities:

• Set up and operate multiple EDM/Wire machines in line with production requirements
• Ensure all products meet required quality, quantity, and cost standards while adhering to production schedules
• Maintain a safe working environment and comply with company Health & Safety policies
• Take full responsibility for the quality and inspection of machined parts, including cleaning and de-burring
• Use provided set-up sheets, tooling, fixtures, and Edgecam programs supplied by Production Engineering
• Monitor EDM machine performance to ensure cycle times meet estimated costed times
• Conduct in-process inspections using micrometers, verniers, and CMM reports
• Communicate effectively with the opposite shift machinist during shift handovers

Key Skills and Experience:

• Proven experience in operating and controlling EDM/Wire machines
• Ability to read and understand CNC machine code and related setup parameters
• Strong understanding of datum setting, tool length, and wear offsets
• Proficient in reading and interpreting engineering drawings
• Familiarity with machining Duplex and Nickel Alloy materials
• Experienced in using inspection gauges for part verification
