Job summary

Elsevier is seeking an Associate Scientific Editor in London to join the Author Heroes team. You will evaluate manuscripts, collaborate with editors and reviewers, and guide authors through the publishing journey to place their research in the most suitable journal.

You will manage submissions through peer review to final decision, recruit external editors, and help authors maximize their chances of publication.

Qualifications

• Demonstrate a professional level written and spoken English.
• Have a track record of published papers in scientific journals.
• Stay technology-savvy and familiar with online platforms.
• Build relationships and act as a self-starter in a large international environment.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate content as a partner to external editors.
• Improve the editorial process for editors and reviewers iteratively.
• Engage closely with authors to help them improve manuscripts.
• Manage the editorial process for papers from submission to final decision.
• Help authors increase their odds of being published in another journal if rejected.
