Boydell & Brewer is seeking an Editorial Assistant to join the Editorial department and support the delivery of publishing programmes across our Humanities and Social Science lists. The role offers training and progression opportunities as you develop publishing knowledge and responsibilities.

This full-time position provides a starting salary of £24,000 per annum for a 35-hour week, and a hybrid working arrangement at Martlesham with potential remote options for exceptional candidates; you will

Qualifications

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and administrative systems.
• Strong organisational skills with keen attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

• Interest in academic publishing and scholarly communication.

Responsibilities

• Act as primary point of contact for authors and provide editorial and administrative support throughout the publishing process.
• Support commissioning editors in managing publishing projects, schedules and peer review processes.
• Prepare contracts, maintain title records and ensure publishing information is accurate.
• Assist with manuscript preparation, cover copy, permissions and other publication-related activities.
• Collaborate with authors, academic partners and colleagues across the business.
