Amazon is seeking a bilingual or trilingual Editorial Assistant to support the management and daily operations of About Amazon's European websites (UK, Germany, and France). This role is part of the Amazon News team, which aims to make "About Amazon" the first and most trusted source of information and news about Amazon for external audiences.

You will be responsible for assisting with the EU Amazon News team's operations, including content planning, content editing and updates, basic design work, content distribution, performance tracking, onboarding and managing freelancers, and various administrative tasks. Working closely with the international Amazon News team and PR and communications stakeholders, you will contribute to our digital publication strategies.

Located in Amazon's London office, this role is ideal for someone early in their journalism /communications career looking to gain hands-on experience in editorial operations. We value candidates with enthusiasm for digital content, writing & editing skills, and interest in working in a fast-paced environment.

Key job responsibilities

  1. Content: Supporting the editorial team with content planning & distribution, as well as owning our search-focused evergreen update strategy. This will include some writing and editing.
  2. Design: Helping the editorial team source imagery and graphics as well as conducting basic design work, like editing in Photoshop.
  3. Administration: Managing a network of freelance writers, photographers and designers, including onboarding, assignment tracking, working with internal brand teams to ensure consistent branding and transfer of shared assets, as well as various other administrative tasks to streamline processes.
  4. Analytics & Performance: Working with editorial and analytics teams to help measure success of content in order to enable leadership to make real-time strategic adjustments based on results.
  5. Process Support: Developing best practices and creating playbooks and toolkits to make our work more consistent and efficient.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- Digital content experience in journalism, communication, or marketing
- Experience planning, writing and editing digital content, working with a content management system (CMS)
- Excellent communicator with clear and concise verbal and written communication in English
- Proficiency in either French or German (speak, read, and write), in addition to English
- Familiarity with digital content creation and editing
- Basic understanding of SEO (Search Engine Optimization) and tools like Google Trends
- Familiarity with Adobe Photoshop and ability to do some basic photo editing & color toning

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, or a related field such as online journalism
- Experience using Adobe Photoshop, with an understanding of actions, layer masking, adjustment layers, file management, and best practices.
- More extensive experience using SEO tools such as Google Trends, SEMrush, etc. to create search-driven content a strong asset
- Experience using data and analytics to measure impact of digital content
- Experience collaborating with global teams
