Job summary

John Wiley & Sons Ltd. seeks an Editor-in-Chief for Advanced Computing to provide strategic leadership and scholarly vision, ensuring the journal remains at the forefront of computing research with the highest standards of quality and integrity.

Lead a team of editors, define scope, recruit an editorial board, and oversee peer-review timelines. Strong CS expertise and a track record in open science and responsible AI are preferred.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Computer Science, Electrical/Computer Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Data Science or Information Science (CS emphasis).
• Experience in senior editorial roles preferred (Deputy Editor or Editor-in-Chief).
• Familiarity with editorial workflows and systems; commitment to reproducibility and open science.

Responsibilities

• Define and refine the journal’s scope, priorities, and special issues.
• Recruit a diverse editorial board; oversee peer-review processes and timelines.
• Enforce rigorous methodological standards, reproducibility, and ethical compliance.
• Foster relationships with global research communities, industry, and policy stakeholders.
• Champion open science, artifact evaluation, and responsible AI practices.
• Oversee manuscript review and decision-making.
