Job summary

Taylor & Francis Group in the UK seeks an experienced Editor for PeerJ - Computer Science to guide manuscript assessment, manage complex peer review issues, and advise on editorial standards. You will recruit Editorial Board members, support content commissioning, and represent the journal at conferences.

You will collaborate across departments to drive growth, promote open research, and develop robust journal strategies.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree required; PhD minimum; postdoctoral experience preferred.
• Excellent written and spoken English.
• Knowledge of the academic publishing industry.

Responsibilities

• Provide guidance to manuscript assessment team and advise Chief Editor on scientific/editorial standards.
• Recruit and manage Editorial Board Members; train and liaise across diverse subject areas.
• Advise on scientific and editorial standards for internal and external stakeholders.
• Contribute to journal policy updates and author instructions for PeerJ journals.
• Promote manuscript submissions through targeted journal promotion and outreach.
• Oversee full peer review process when editors are unavailable; ensure timely, high-quality reviews.
• Represent the journal at conferences to expand market knowledge and promote open research initiatives.
• Support content commissioning and topic soucing to align with journal goals.
• Drive journal promotion through relevant channels and platforms.
• Collaborate with Chief Editor on strategic development of journal program.
• Conduct ethical investigations as required and ensure adherence to standards.
• Collaborate across departments to address publishing needs.
