Job Description

Sun Originals is a new video production studio creating premium series for The Sun, Sun Sport, and Fabulous brands. The team develops and produces original shows to help The Sun reach its next generation of viewers.

Your Role: As an Edit Assistant/DIT, you will support editors and the team, highlighting client needs, workflow challenges, or technical issues to the Project Manager.

Day-to-day responsibilities include:

• Ingesting and backing up rushes, creating low-res proxies
• Updating and maintaining DIT logs and edit logs
• Assisting on-site editors and preparing edit sequences/projects
• Consolidating projects and preparing edits for grading and online
• Managing media and projects across locations
• Transcribing and creating CC subtitle files for online platforms
• Managing media archives and file delivery systems
• Preparing sequences and media for editing
• Playing out, packaging, and delivering assets
• Reporting technical problems to engineering teams
• Performing metadata entry tasks

Candidate requirements:

• Impeccable attention to detail
• Technical training and experience in media organizations
• Operational knowledge in a team editing environment
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Experience with Adobe Premiere Pro workflows, preferably in broadcasting or digital publishing
• Knowledge of file-based workflows, codecs, and resolutions
• Basic understanding of remote editing and cloud workflows
• Ability to QC and repair content as needed
• Strong organizational skills, analytical, methodical, and detail-oriented
• Self-motivated with good time management skills
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
• Decision-making skills and problem escalation awareness
