Job summary

George Watson’s College is seeking Wraparound Care Practitioners to help create a safe, engaging space where children can play and learn. The role supports youngsters after school and during holidays, with a focus on safety, well-being, and positive guidance.

Pay is £13.45–£14.63 per hour, term-time hours 2:30pm–6pm, plus a minimum 30 hours per week during school holidays. Eight weeks leave and staff benefits are available.

Qualifications

• Must be compliant with SSSC registration for a Practitioner in day care of children.
• Registration with the SSSC within six months of appointment.
• Solid teamwork and communication skills.
• Numeracy and literacy abilities suitable for school environment.
• Ability to take initiative, show resilience and adapt to age ranges.

Responsibilities

• Create a safe, stimulating environment for children to play and develop.
• Ensure the care and well-being of attending children.
• Actively participate in planning and evaluation of activities.
• Support children to direct their own play.
• Assist in group activities, encouraging cooperation and communication.
• Set out and tidy equipment each afternoon per health and safety policy.
• Assist in snack preparation and delivery.
• Attend supervision, team meetings and training as required.
• Be a positive role model and uphold school ethos and values.
• Maintain positive relationships with children and adults.
• Comply with childcare and health and safety regulations.
