Job summary

George Watson’s College in Edinburgh is seeking Wraparound Care Practitioners to support children and young people in creating a safe, stimulating space where they can play and develop.

You will help deliver and evaluate activities, encourage children to direct their own play, assist with snacks, and participate in supervision and training. This is a permanent role with term-time hours 2:30pm–6pm and additional holiday hours.

Qualifications

• Must hold qualification to be compliant with SSSC registration as a Practitioner in the day care of children.
• Register with the SSSC within 6 months.
• Excellent team working ability and strong communication skills.
• Good numeracy and literacy skills; flexibility to work with different age ranges.

Responsibilities

• Create a safe, stimulating environment that allows children to play and develop.
• Care for the wellbeing of children who attend and support group activities.
• Assist in planning, evaluating and delivering activities.
• Encourage children to direct their own play and support cooperation.
• Set out and tidy equipment daily in line with Health and Safety policies.
• Assist in the preparation and delivery of snacks.
• Attend regular supervision, team meetings and training.
• Act as a positive role model and uphold the school ethos and values.
• Maintain positive relationships with children and adults.
• Comply with childcare and Health & Safety regulations and national initiatives.
