Job summary

The British Science Association seeks an EDIS Research and Policy Manager to lead research, data, policy insight and learning across EDIS, ensuring credibility and relevance for member organisations and the wider science and health research sector.

Based in London with agile working options, the role provides tailored support to members to strengthen data-informed EDI practice, translates policy developments into action, and manages a portfolio of research and policy projects for sector

Qualifications

• Experience delivering research, policy, evidence review or insight projects.
• Commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion with practical ethical research approaches.
• Strong analytical skills to review and synthesize qualitative/quantitative evidence and derive recommendations.
• Ability to communicate complex information clearly in writing for diverse audiences.
• Strong organisational and project coordination skills managing multiple workstreams and deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Lead EDIS research, data, evidence and policy activity with priorities, plans, resources, milestones, budgets and quality standards.
• Analyse evidence, member insight and sector developments, translating complex material into practical recommendations, policy positions, briefings and sector learning.
• Build relationships with members, partners and researchers to align evidence activity with inclusive priorities and programme delivery.
• Provide tailored support to EDIS members to enhance data-informed EDI practice and internal decision-making.
• Manage day-to-day relationship with MEL partner, ensuring findings inform programme decisions.
• Enable meaningful co-design with communities affected by inequity to influence decisions.
• Ensure data and evidence are collected, disaggregated, stored and communicated ethically.
• Gather and synthesise evidence of progress to support accountability and impact reporting across EDIS.
• Develop accessible reports, presentations and resources to support learning and sector influence.
• Embed equity, inclusion, accessibility and ethical practice across all activity.
• Collaborate with colleagues across BSA to contribute to policy priorities.
