We currently have an opportunity to join East Suffolk Services Limited Community Services team as a Central Controller.
Your role
Operating from a dedicated Control Centre, you'll be responsible for proactive and reactive monitoring of CCTV, handling out-of-hours emergency calls, and operating airwave and town link radio systems, 24/7.
This service plays a crucial part in promoting community safety, preventing and detecting crime, and supporting emergency response partners. You will work in partnership with the Police and other external agencies, reviewing footage, compiling detailed reports and - where needed - providing evidence for investigations or legal proceedings.
A key part of your role will be delivering East Suffolk Council's out-of-hours call handling service. This involves taking incoming calls from members of the public outside of normal working hours and managing a wide range of urgent situations, from homelessness and anti-social behaviour to emergency housing repairs and environmental health concerns. You'll also help support internal operations by updating logs, maintaining records, and flagging faults with CCTV or communications equipment when needed.
What you will need
The role can be stimulating, demanding and requires a professional and calm approach to situations that can vary greatly.
The successful candidate will ideally have experience of CCTV operations, partnership working and problem solving when working within a dedicated CCTV Control Room using analogue, digital and wireless cameras.
It is imperative that you can multi-task, be comfortable working under pressure, have an eye for detail, be results focus and display excellent communication & written skills. You will need to update data-based spreadsheets to ensure records are kept up to date, in accordance with service requirements and GDPR.
This is a shift-based role (6 on, 4 off), including days, evenings, nights and weekends. Flexibility is essential. The role includes shift allowance on top of the base salary.

CCTV SIA licence along with a full driving licence is essential for this role.
