A contemporary art gallery in London is looking for an experienced Art Technician with a passion for high-quality art installations and careful handling.

As an Art Technician, you’ll be responsible for ensuring the smooth installation and maintenance of artwork in our prestigious London galleries. Your role will also involve occasional travel and weekend work, with competitive compensation for your time.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Hanging artwork using a variety of installation methods on different wall compositions.
  • Handling all artwork with extreme care, ensuring safe and secure installations.
  • Packing and unpacking artwork for shipping, including the use of custom crates.
  • Managing and maintaining artwork stock, ensuring accurate records.
  • Administering artwork through our internal database (training provided).
  • Logging and reporting any damaged pieces, whether caused in-gallery or during shipping.
  • Delivering artwork to customer locations as required.
  • Maintaining the gallery’s appearance and re-hanging exhibits as needed.

We’re looking for a proactive and detail-oriented technician who has a minimum of 3 years’ experience in the installation, handling, and transportation of art. Your keen eye for detail, organisational skills, and ability to ensure the safe handling of artwork will be key to your success.

You’ll have a professional, hands-on approach and a strong work ethic. A full driving licence is desirable, though not essential, and any experience with warehouse machinery (e.g. forklifts) will give you an edge. Most importantly, we want someone who is passionate about art and who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
