As a Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the AI/ML & Data Platforms team, you are a core technical contributor responsible for creating critical technology solutions across multiple areas within various business functions to support the firm’s objectives.

Job Responsibilities

1. Execute creative software solutions, design, develop, and troubleshoot technical issues, thinking beyond routine approaches to build solutions or analyze problems.
2. Develop secure, high-quality production code; review and debug code written by others.
3. Identify opportunities to automate or eliminate recurring issues to enhance operational stability.
4. Lead evaluation sessions with vendors, startups, and internal teams to assess architectural designs and technical credentials for system integration.
5. Lead communities of practice in Software Engineering to promote awareness and adoption of new technologies.
6. Contribute to a team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect.
7. Provide insightful code reviews and take ownership of outcomes.
8. Utilize Python, Snowflake, and AWS technologies extensively.
9. Develop and communicate product vision aligned with organizational goals and leadership principles.
10. Lead and develop a team of junior developers, including talent sourcing and growth initiatives.

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

• Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts with practical experience.
• Hands-on experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
• Fluency in Python.
• Proficiency across all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle.
• Advanced understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, application resiliency, and security.
• In-depth knowledge of the financial services industry and IT systems.
• Practical experience with AWS cloud-native solutions.
