Job Description:

Head of Technical

We're looking for a Head of Technical to join our Natural Resources, Nuclear & Networks - Water division.

Location: Any location within the United Kingdom, with travel to Kier’s operational teams across the UK.

Hours: 45 hours per week

Responsibilities include:

  • Developing and implementing innovative process solutions, methods, and technological advances across water frameworks.
  • Developing, rolling out, and updating Operating Procedures, Minimum Standards, & Guidance Notes specific to MEICA processes.
  • Overseeing deployment of technical and process improvements ensuring compliance with engineering standards, regulations, and operational excellence.
  • Strategic leadership including developing a national MEICA strategy for water and wastewater projects.
  • Technical oversight of Kier’s water business unit’s compliance with NICEIC, DSEAR, and ATEX regulations.
  • Project delivery in collaboration with design, construction, commissioning, planning, quality, and estimating teams.

Qualifications and experience:

  • Degree or HNC in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical, Environmental, or related). Chartered status desirable.
  • Proven experience managing complex water and wastewater assets.
  • Leadership experience managing national teams and multiple projects.
