About The Role
HSQE (Health, Safety, Quality & Environment)
- Read and understand the Company's Safety Statement and ensure that it is communicated to all employees under your control.
- Ensure that information affecting the health and safety of personnel on-site is reported to the Regional Director/Project Manager/Site Agent, especially regarding:
- Underground services
- Ground conditions affecting excavation stability or worker safety (soil, water table, toxic substances, gases, etc.)
- Report unsafe conditions observed on-site to the Site Manager.
- Perform your work safely, taking precautions near public roads or water, and wear necessary protective gear.
- Maintain records of underground services on-site, marked with posts and signs during construction.
- If the Project Manager/Site Agent is absent, the Site Engineer will assume temporary responsibility for HSQE and environmental issues.
- Familiarize yourself with the company's HSQE management systems and current statutory HSE legislation or know where to find this information.
- Comply with all safety requirements.
- Ensure quality control per company procedures, method statements, quality plans, and inspection/test plans.
- Verify materials and work in progress for compliance with specified requirements.
- Ensure work is completed following RAMS & Design.
Planning
- Understand the Contract Form and implications of variations or change orders on the program and costs.
- Be familiar with the construction program and the impact of overruns on costs and manpower.
- Plan work and organize plant and site facilities efficiently to meet deadlines.
- Coordinate with the Project Manager/planner regarding construction schedules and constraints.
Site Management & Liaison
- Review Specifications, Drawings, and other Contract Documents.
- Set out, level, and survey the site according to Drawings and Specifications.
- Prepare Labour, Plant & Material Returns.
- Maintain As-built drawings, technical reports, and site diaries.
- Coordinate with the purchasing department to ensure purchase orders meet requirements.
- Requisition materials and equipment.
- Communicate with consultants, subcontractors, site supervisors, planners, quantity surveyors, and the workforce.
- Manage daily site operations, supervise labor force and subcontractors.
- Resolve technical issues with stakeholders and authorities.
Requirements
About You
- Degree in engineering or equivalent experience demonstrating competency.
- Member of the relevant Professional Institution.
- Construction experience on similar projects, committed to safe and environmentally friendly practices.
