Job description

The role of the Area Sales Manager is to own the Customer base within a given postcode area, build strong working relationships with existing and new clients, and leverage the full range of Schneider Electric's offers and services. You will be responsible for achieving targets related to orders, sales, profitability, and strategic initiatives within your customer base.

Key responsibilities include:

  1. Area Sales Strategy: Develop a robust sales strategy to drive growth in your area, set targets for customer growth and acquisition, and coordinate with channel and offer marketing for customer engagement.
  2. Financial KPIs: Achieve or surpass set KPIs focusing on orders, sales, margin, new customer acquisition, and opportunity win rate, while managing MDF and expenses effectively.
  3. Customer Relationships: Cultivate and maintain relationships across channels, leveraging these to expand business opportunities. Engage customers through networking and entertainment to strengthen ties.
  4. Forecasting: Provide quarterly rolling forecasts, monthly business forecasts, and semi-formal updates as required by the Regional Director.
  5. CRM Excellence: Lead in CRM utilization, ensuring all customer interactions and opportunities are documented thoroughly, fostering a culture of CRM excellence.
  6. Pipeline Management: Maintain a robust pipeline with a clear view of projects across short, medium, and long-term horizons. Ensure alignment with market offers and improve win rates and closing times.

Skills and attributes required include sales management experience, strong influencing skills, excellent organization and planning, and good business acumen with awareness of macro market trends.
