Carpentry & Joinery Level 2 – Apprenticeship

Location: Yorkshire and Humber

Salary: 16yrs – 17yrs: £7.71ph 40 hours per week including time at college

Over 18yrs: £10.71ph – 42.5 hours per week including time at college

Over 21yrs: £12.21ph - 42.5 hours per week including time at college

Tools, Chromebook, and uniform will be provided.

Plus an industry-recognised qualification and excellent benefits.

The NVQ L2 Carpenter / Joiner apprenticeship programme will take up to 27 months to complete.

What does a life as a Carpenter & Joiner look like:

A Site Carpenter & Joiner typically works on building sites or in domestic and commercial premises. Responsibilities include preparing and fixing building components, from erecting new structures to installing fixtures and fittings, as well as repair and maintenance tasks in various settings. They often coordinate with other trades such as bricklayers, plasterers, plumbers, supervisors, and contractors.

The apprenticeship course will cover:
  • Compliance with health and safety regulations, standards, and guidance.
  • Use of safety control equipment such as RPE, dust suppression, PPE, and LEV.
  • Adherence to environmental and sustainability standards, resource segregation for reuse, recycling, and disposal.
  • Following industry regulations, standards, and guidance.
  • Preparing and maintaining a safe working environment.
  • Interpreting and using drawings and specifications.
  • Estimating materials and producing cutting lists.
  • Verbal communication with team members, using construction terminology.
