Carpentry & Joinery Level 2 – Apprenticeship

Location: Yorkshire and Humber

Salary: 16yrs – 17yrs: £7.71ph, 40 hours per week including time at college
Over 18yrs: £10.71ph, 42.5 hours per week including time at college
Over 21yrs: £12.21ph, 42.5 hours per week including time at college

Additional support: Tools, Chromebook, and uniform will be provided. Plus an industry-recognised qualification and excellent benefits.

The NVQ Level 2 Carpenter / Joiner apprenticeship will take up to 27 months to complete.

What does a life as a Carpenter & Joiner look like?

A Site Carpenter & Joiner typically works on building sites or in domestic and commercial settings, preparing and fixing building components from erection to installation of fixtures and fittings, as well as performing repair and maintenance tasks in various buildings. They often coordinate with other trades such as bricklayers, plasterers, plumbers, supervisors, and contractors.

The apprenticeship course will cover the following:
  • Comply with health and safety regulations, standards, and guidance.
  • Identify and use safety control equipment, e.g., RPE, dust suppression, PPE, and LEV.
  • Follow environmental and sustainability regulations, standards, and guidance, including resource segregation for reuse, recycling, and disposal.
  • Adhere to industry regulations, standards, and guidance.
  • Prepare and maintain a safe working area.
  • Interpret and utilize information from drawings and specifications.
  • Estimate required materials and produce a cutting list.
  • Communicate verbally with others, applying construction terminology.
