Job Opportunity: Bar and Floor Staff

Important: Must be able to work weekends and be 18 or older.

The Glee Club Cardiff, located in Mermaid Quay, Cardiff Bay, features a 450-seat auditorium hosting stand-up comedy, touring shows, live music, drag, and spoken word events.

We seek enthusiastic, hardworking individuals to join our bar and floor staff team for 1-4 shifts per week. Availability during most evenings, including weekends, bank holidays, and non-term time, is essential. During summer, shifts are fewer, but increase from September to June. Willingness to cross-train across departments is preferred.

Pay: £12.21 per hour plus tips, bonus scheme, paid every 4 weeks.

Job Roles & Responsibilities: Floor

• Handle low-level customer issues effectively and efficiently.
• Read tickets and serve food to correct tables, carrying trays as needed.
• Set up and pack away furniture safely and efficiently.
• Serve drinks to tables, carrying trays.
• Clear empty plates and glasses during intervals and service.
• Maintain high cleanliness standards in the kitchen and wash-up area.
• Assist with venue readiness tasks as directed by management, such as polishing cutlery and cleaning tables.

Additional Information

• Shifts typically start between 5:00 pm and 6:30 pm and end between 10:30 pm and 11:30 pm.
• While we do not provide transport, we allow leaving at a reasonable time for public transport, with prior notice.
• The first hour of shifts can be intense; ability to work under pressure is essential to serve up to 400 customers efficiently before shows and during intervals.
