Job description

Job Opportunity: Bar and Floor Staff at The Glee Club Cardiff

Join our vibrant team at The Glee Club Cardiff, located in Mermaid Quay, Cardiff Bay. We are seeking enthusiastic and hardworking individuals to work as part of our bar and floor staff team, with shifts averaging 1 to 4 per week. The role involves working most evenings, including weekends, bank holidays, and during non-term times. We encourage cross-training across departments to enhance your skills.

Important: Must be able to work weekends and be 18 years or older.

Pay: £12.21 per hour plus tips, a bonus scheme, paid every 4 weeks.

Responsibilities include:
  • Handling low-level customer issues effectively and efficiently.
  • Reading tickets and delivering correct food to tables, including tray carrying.
  • Cleaning, setting up, and packing away furniture safely.
  • Serving drinks to tables, carrying trays as needed.
  • Collecting empty plates and glasses during intervals and service.
  • Maintaining high cleanliness standards in the kitchen and wash-up areas.
  • Completing additional tasks as requested by management to prepare the venue for opening.
Additional Information:
  • Shifts typically start between 5 pm and 6:30 pm and end between 10:30 pm and 11:30 pm.
  • We do not provide transport but allow leaving at suitable times for public transport, with prior notice.
  • The first hour of shifts can be intense; ability to work under pressure is essential.

  • Shifts are early enough to enjoy social activities afterward.
