Job summary

The Hillingdon Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust in Uxbridge is seeking a Junior Sister/Charge Nurse for the Emergency Department. You will support the ED Matron and Senior Sisters, ensuring patients are seen, treated, discharged or transferred within four-hour standards.

You will supervise staff, teach and deputise for Team Leader as needed, coordinating care, monitoring standards and managing resources to maintain high-quality patient care.

Qualifications

• Registered nurse with current NMC registration.
• Emergency & Unscheduled Care course completed.
• Advanced Life Support qualification.
• Leadership training completed and applied.

Responsibilities

• Assist with clinical duties across the department when needed.
• Monitor and improve standards of care and ED processes.
• Lead shift and manage escalation as required.
• Organise staff deployment according to competencies and workload.
• Maintain accurate records and ensure documentation compliance.
