Job description

ECT Teachers are sought for positions in and around Durham through Spennymoor Supply Teaching Partnership. The Education Network Durham is registering Early Career Teachers for long‑term roles commencing September 2026, with a guaranteed pay scheme available. These contract positions offer £131 to £148 per day, supporting your induction period through partner schools.

Supply work provides varied classroom experience, helping to refine teaching methods and behaviour management techniques. This arrangement lets you evaluate different school environments to identify the best fit for your professional development.

Working across primary or secondary settings, you will deliver planned lessons, manage classes effectively, and adapt swiftly to new surroundings. This pathway suits those beginning or completing their induction, offering practical insight and sustained support throughout your first years in teaching.

The ideal candidate should have:
  • Relevant Teaching Degree with QTS
  • Two relevant satisfactory references (to cover the last 2 years, including final teaching placement)
  • Satisfactory enhanced DBS check
  • Be committed to the continued success of both the pupils and the school
