Job summary

Labcorp seeks a Study Director - Ecotoxicology at Alconbury, near Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire. Monday - Friday, 37.5hrs. Lead studies for various test organisms, ensure GLP compliance, and manage study plans and reports.

Significant Ecotoxicology Study Director experience and GLP knowledge preferred. The role involves coordinating with sponsors and staff, training and mentoring technical teams, and supporting internal/external customers on study designs and regulatory issues.

Qualifications

• Degree in Environmental Sciences or Ecotoxicology.
• Significant experience within a Study Director role in Ecotoxicology.
• Working knowledge of GLP and regulatory guidelines.
• Skilled in data interpretation and report writing for studies.
• Skilled in customer service communication.
• Proficiency in project management skills.
• Ability to conduct literature review.
• Remote location of site with no public transport links.

Responsibilities

• Perform the duties of a Study Director/Principal Investigator for studies, including studies for all test organisms following acute and chronic guidelines.
• Ensure Study Plan is prepared, signed, circulated and compliant with regulations.
• Hold study start-up meetings and resolve issues before treatment.
• Ensure test items tested for identity and hazards; obtain data from literature.
• Ensure test organisms are healthy and comply with license regulations.
• Monitor observations and document responses; manage study implications.
• Data review to ensure GLP compliance; coordinate QA actions.
• Prepare reports concisely reflecting raw data and relevant information.
• Archive study data and reports promptly according to SOPs.
• Coordinate animal/test vessel supply in collaboration with staff.
• Be aware of Codes of Practice for laboratory animals.
• Contribute to Ecotoxicology department management beyond Study Director duties.
• Travel as required and liaise with sponsors.
